Jonathan David has refused to rule out a move to Lille despite negotiating a new contract with the club. The Canada international has been linked with a number of clubs, including Manchester United, but a move has yet to materialise.
The 24-year-old has admitted he spoke to a number of clubs over the summer but ultimately decided not to move. “There were offers and we couldn’t finalise the deal. I spoke to two or three teams, I spoke to the coach but in the end I decided to stay. “
We are currently speaking to [club president] ยูฟ่าเบท Olivier Letang about the possibility of extending my contract. We will see what happens.”
Asked about his future, David said: “I’m open to everything. Of course I think the Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world. “
And for me, it’s not only the Premier League. I’m open to everything and every league has its own challenges.”

However, remaining at LOSC is one of many options. David has garnered interest from across Europe, with Chelsea touted as a suitor during the last transfer window. Whilst he admitted an interest in joining England’s top flight, he is keeping his options open.
“I’m open to anything. I think obviously the Premier League is regarded as one of the best leagues in the world. And for me, it’s not the Premier League or bust. I’m open to anything and every league has its challenges,” he said.
David also revealed that he did speak to “a couple of teams” last summer, before making the decision to stay. Something will have to give this year: either he extends or he leaves for a new challenge.
